SleepWise Healthcare is a Swiss medical technology company specializing in contactless, AI-assisted sleep diagnostics. Founded in 2022, it builds upon more than a decade of clinical research and technological development initiated in Spain by Prof. Miguel Ángel Cervantes and Dr. Jorge Abad, and validated in collaboration with leading European hospitals.
Our mission is to bring clinical-grade accuracy to a system that is completely software-based, enabling physicians to perform diagnostic-quality sleep assessments without sensors, belts, or nasal cannulas.

Our Origins
The SleepWise system originates from Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol (Barcelona, Spain), where Dr. Jorge Abad and his team conducted pioneering research on contactless sleep monitoring. Between 2016 and 2020, multiple peer-reviewed studies demonstrated the strong correlation between SleepWise and traditional polysomnography, achieving 100% sensitivity and 83% specificity in respiratory event detection.
In 2022, SleepWise Healthcare SAGL was founded in Switzerland by Gabriele Spinelli and Prof. Miguel Ángel Cervantes to industrialize and globalize the technology. Today, the company continues to operate under Swiss quality and data protection standards, while expanding validation and certification efforts internationally.

Computer Engineer with over 14 years of experience in computer vision and biometrics. Inventor of the SleepWise technology and lead architect of its proprietary algorithms. Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, developer of multiple patented imaging systems, and long-time collaborator with Hewlett Packard.
Dr. Jorge Abad
Chief Medical Officer & Co-Founder
Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine Specialist at Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Barcelona. Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1993). Author of over 50 scientific publications and principal investigator in the first SleepWise validation studies.

Clinical Research & Validation
Medical Doctor and Pulmonologist at Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol. PhD candidate on New Diagnostic Methods in Sleep Apnea–Hypopnea Syndrome (SAHS). Accredited as an Expert in Sleep Medicine by the Spanish Committee of Sleep Medicine. Her research focuses on contactless diagnostics for paediatric and adult populations.

Mechanical Engineer and MedTech entrepreneur with extensive experience in sleep diagnostics and respiratory therapy in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and France. Founder of OxyStore and co-founder of SleepWise Healthcare SAGL. Responsible for corporate strategy, clinical partnerships, and international expansion.

SleepWise collaborates with a growing network of physicians, biomedical engineers, and regulatory specialists to ensure that each stage of development meets clinical, ethical, and scientific standards. An external Scientific Advisory Board provides oversight for ongoing studies and certification processes.
